Job Description
Senior Occupational Therapist Permanent, full‑time position. Remuneration is per PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines. This role is based at Health New Zealand (Te Whatu Ora) and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy interventions for children with developmental difficulties or disabilities. Work closely with families, taking a whaanau‑centered approach to therapy. Manage complex cases using advanced clinical reasoning and problem‑solving skills. Provide mentorship and clinical leadership within the team. Support service development and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care. Participate in ongoing professional development and research activities. Maintain accreditations for wheeled mobility, specialised equipment, and housing modifications. Qualifications Registered Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate. Minimum five years experience in paediatric Occupational Therapy or related settings. Strong clinical reasoning and problem‑solving skills for managing complex cases. Experience in clinical supervision, mentoring, and team leadership. High standard of communication skills with colleagues and whānau. Knowledge of best practices, service development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
