Test Lead / Business Analyst Department: Digital and IT Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Auckland Head Office Reporting To: Richard Wu Description We're looking for an experienced Test Lead & Business Analyst to join our IT team in a pivotal role that combines quality assurance leadership with business analysis expertise. In this role, you'll work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technology partners to deliver high‑quality technology solutions that meet business needs. You'll lead testing activities across projects while also analysing business requirements, improving processes, and helping shape practical, user‑focused solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, coordination and execution of testing activities, including developing test strategies, plans, test cases and managing defect resolution. Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements, ensuring solutions align with business objectives. Facilitate workshops and discussions to identify business needs, improve processes and build stakeholder consensus. Coordinate system, integration and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring solutions meet quality standards before release. Support solution design, implementation and change activities by working closely with business and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle. Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance testing practices, business processes and test automation. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors and project teams, acting as the key link between business and technology. Provide trusted advice and clear communication to stakeholders, supporting informed decision‑making and successful project delivery. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise At least 10 years' experience in software testing, and 3+ years experience leading testing activities and delivering high‑quality outcomes. Proven experience with manual testing methodologies and establishing testing frameworks from the ground up. Hands‑on experience with test automation tools and frameworks is highly desirable. Proven experience as a Business Analyst, including requirements gathering, process analysis and business process improvement, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working across project delivery lifecycles. Experience with test planning, test execution, defect management and user acceptance testing (UAT). Experience within the financial services, banking or accounting industries is not essential but is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions. Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills, with a proven ability to build effective relationships at all levels. A tertiary qualification in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline. Business Analysis and/or Software Testing certifications are desirable. A proactive, collaborative and customer‑focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
