Product Quality & Compliance Specialist – Furniture, Mattresses & Home products Product Quality & Compliance Specialist – Furniture, Mattresses, Home products Farmers is one of New Zealand’s most iconic retail brands, trusted by generations of Kiwi customers. We’re looking for an experienced Product Quality & Compliance Specialist to join our team and help ensure the products we sell meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role covers a wide range of Hard Goods categories including Home and Nursery Furniture, Mattresses, Home decor, Kitchen, Nursery, Toys, Health & Beauty, Appliances, Seasonal, and Accessories. A thorough knowledge of furniture and mattress products is essential, including how they are constructed, tested, and assessed for quality, durability, and safety. You will work closely with Buying, Sourcing, Design, Suppliers, Distribution Centre, and Compliance teams to support product development from concept through to market, ensuring compliance with New Zealand and Australian regulatory standards as well as Farmers’ internal quality requirements. Responsibilities Review products through development and pre-production stages to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met Assess product durability, performance, safety, and regulatory compliance, including product assembly. Manage product testing, certifications, and supplier documentation Identify and mitigate product quality and compliance risks Support investigations, corrective actions, and product recalls when required Provide technical guidance to suppliers and internal stakeholders Drive continuous improvement across quality assurance and compliance processes Establish Quality Control Standards, Pre-production and other Compliance documents. Be up to date on lates regulations and implement them on the product before they go on sale and ensure Farmer’s sells compliant products Work with suppliers to establish Instruction manuals, and Labelling standards Qualifications 6+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance, Product Compliance, Responsible Sourcing, or a related field Strong knowledge of NZ/AU product safety regulations and compliance standards Experience reviewing test reports, certifications, and compliance documentation. Thorough knowledge of furniture and mattress products, and other Home products including materials, construction methods, manufacturing processes, durability, safety standards, assembly, and testing requirements Experience within retail, sourcing, manufacturing, or consumer goods environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail Strong stakeholder management and communication skills A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership Benefits Why Farmers?
