Do you enjoy leading people, improving processes and finding practical solutions to complex problems? Tasman District Council is looking for a Team Leader - Revenue & Payables to lead a team responsible for accounts receivable, debt management and accounts payable functions. This is an opportunity to combine your technical finance expertise with people leadership in a role that is varied, challenging and highly valued across the organisation. About the role Reporting to the Business Services & Rates Manager, you'll lead a small team of finance professionals responsible for revenue and payable functions across Council. You'll Lead and support a team delivering accounts receivable, and accounts payable services Oversee Council's debt management and debt recovery processes Ensure financial transactions, reconciliations, refunds and transfers are accurate and compliant Monitor workloads, priorities and service delivery across the team Coach, mentor and develop team members to achieve their potential Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer service Provide financial reporting, analysis and operational support to the Business Services & Rates Manager as their 2IC This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical finance responsibilities with leadership, relationship management and continuous improvement. About you Strong experience in finance, accounts receivable, credit management, revenue administration or a similar field Experience leading, mentoring or developing staff Sound financial systems, reporting and reconciliation skills Confidence managing complex customer accounts and debt recovery situations with professionalism and empathy Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to make things better Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships Experience within local government would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
