Position Registered Nurse Intern—26ClarenceStreet, Hamilton. Permanent position, 1.0FTE, 80hours per fortnight. About the Role This full‑time position is designed to develop the registered nurse’s knowledge and skills in diabetes education and clinical management to an expert level. The internship consists of three nine‑month rotations across the major sub‑specialty areas of the Diabetes Service and includes clinical supervision with a Clinical Nurse Specialist, support for postgraduate study, professional supervision and preparation for prescribing. Objectives / Outcomes Challenge expert level PDRP Apply for accreditation as Diabetes Nurse Specialist Meet the requirements for prescribing within the scope of diabetes care as set out by the NZ Nursing Council Apply for a senior nursing position within a diabetes specialty area of practice About the Service Te Whatu Ora Waikato Regional Diabetes Service provides secondary level care to the Waikato Region and surrounding areas. We have a large multi‑disciplinary team and promote a positive approach to teamwork.
