About the Role This role offers the opportunity to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care across a range of gastroenterology conditions. Manage both inpatient and outpatient services Support general medical colleagues Conduct gastroenterology clinics Perform diagnostic and endoscopic procedures Engage in service development and continuous improvement About the Team / Service / Location The Department of Medicine comprises 16 specialist physicians across cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, haematology, nephrology, oncology, and respiratory. The team values collaboration, mentorship, and expert care across the Nelson‑Marlborough region. The Gastroenterology service provides comprehensive outpatient and inpatient consultations, endoscopic procedures, and multidisciplinary care planning, supported by dedicated nursing staff. About you Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent Specialist accreditation in gastroenterology (NZGastroenterology Society‑recognised) Hold or be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational scope of Internal Medicine with the Medical Council of NewZealand Trained in General Internal Medicine (preferred) Able to work independently in a provincial hospital setting Collegiality and collaboration across all disciplines We welcome applications from diverse Māori, Pacific, disabled, and rainbow communities.
