Sessional Childcare Practitioner - Huntly

We are looking for Sessional Childcare Practitioners to join our team here in Huntly. Our Huntly weekend Group runs every other Saturday and over the school holidays. It provides a fun learning environment for children with Additional Support Needs from 9.30am to 3.30pm. You will be joining an established and experienced team who are professional and compassionate. This is an ‘as and when’ role to fit around the needs of the group and your availability to work, ideal for a second job or while you are studying. Salary is between £13.45 per hour and £13.79 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a rewarding position suited to individuals who are patient, reliable, and passionate about making a positive difference in children’s lives. Hours of Work Year round – Every second Saturday 9.30am – 3.30pm Holiday periods (excluding Christmas) – Every Friday 9.30am – 3.30pm (and every second Saturday 9.30am – 3.30pm). (Additional hours may be available throughout the year in other Aberdeenshire areas) Your Qualifications And Experience We are looking for qualified and unqualified childcare practitioners to come and work in our Saturday clubs and holiday playschemes. Ideal candidates will have some experience in working with children with ASN. The Role The successful candidates will be expected to deliver high quality early learning and childcare for children; they will be expected to support the Service Manager and the existing team. They also will be expected to provide personal care, ensure paperwork is relevant and kept up to date, plan activities relevant to the interests of the child/young person, plan outings in the local community and liaise with families. This role would be ideal for someone looking to start or further progress a career in childcare and will provide a pathway to childcare qualifications. The Setting Our Huntly group is for both primary and secondary aged children specifically with ASN and are part of the charity Flexible Childcare Services Scotland (FCSS). FCSS is a national charity that is unique in that parents are able to book childcare by the hour, pay as they go and change their bookings each week. This flexible childcare model helps save families money on their childcare while supporting them back into education and employment, helping to distance the whole family from poverty.
