There are 36 Medical Registrar positions available, including two dedicated Advanced Trainee posts in Cardiology and Gastroenterology. The training year is structured around two six‑month runs. Tauranga Hospital is a 326‑bed facility with approximately 90 medical beds, 39 elderly/rehabilitation beds (including acute stroke), a 10‑bed ICU, 10‑bed CCU, and a 28‑bed Acute Assessment Unit. You will be part of a collegial, multi‑disciplinary team working in a busy and rewarding environment. About the Team/Service The Department of Medicine at Tauranga Hospital is a dynamic and supportive team of over 30 Consultants across a wide range of specialties, including General Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Respiratory, and more. Registrars work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative environment that values education, equity, and professional development. Regular teaching, simulation training, and peer support are key features of the department.
