Job Description
We are seeking a Professor or Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy to lead research and enrich the Department of Occupational Science and Therapy at Auckland University of Technology. Responsibilities Design, develop and manage a strategic research portfolio that advances occupational therapy scholarship. Build a sustainable research culture through mentorship, team development and capacity building. Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including course design, assessment and curriculum innovation. Supervise and support postgraduate research students. Foster partnerships with industry, government and community stakeholders to translate research into practice. Free gym membership. Qualification and Experience A PhD in occupational therapy. Registration (or eligibility) with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand. Annual Practising Certificate (or eligibility). Extensive research leadership experience and a strong publication record in high‑impact journals. Established international research networks and experience securing external funding. Evidence of building and sustaining collaborative research partnerships. Experience as an editor, guest editor or conference track chair. Substantial undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience, including curriculum design and innovative assessments. Proven ability to attract and supervise postgraduate research students. Demonstrated commitment to indigenous, equity and inclusion initiatives. Academic leadership and service experience, both internally and externally. Strong communication skills for engaging non‑academic audiences, including media outreach. Further Information Start date: no later than February 2027. Term: permanent, full‑time academic appointment.
