Job Category: Government & Defence The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai (the Authority) was established as a Crown Entity in 2021, following the outbreak of illness in the Havelock North community as a result of drinking contaminated water from the public water supply. The Authority oversees and regulates the safety and quality of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services across New Zealand. We do this on behalf of consumers and communities throughout New Zealand, so they can have confidence in the safety and quality of their drinking water and the impact on their environment. Job Description The Governance and Performance Advisor will support the Governance and Performance team to carry out accurate risk and performance reporting, business and strategic planning, respond to information requests and support the governance work programme. You’ll work in a small and supportive team who provide critical direction and strategic leadership to the Authority. The Governance and Performance Advisor will: Provide analytical support and advice for strategic planning and reporting across our organisation Identify trends and areas for improvement through collating and analysing performance data Support team members to coordinate and deliver responses to official correspondence Provide guidance and advice to internal stakeholders to inform sound decision making for our senior leadership, Board and Te Puna - our Māori advisory group Innovation and creativity are key drivers in the way we work - our size requires us to be smart and agile. We are looking for someone who: Is confident in implementing performance frameworks and tools Has an understanding of the machinery of government and public policy making process Is skilled in data collation and analysis Has strong oral and written communication skills including formal documents and business plans Can build strong relationships in order to engage and influence stakeholders Has excellent organisational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines while showing attention to detail Can demonstrate resilience and thrive in a complex, ambiguous environment while maintaining professionalism and discretion Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply Click “apply” you will be redirected to our Talent Portal.
