Job Description

Court Registry Officer – Invercargill (12‑month Fixed Term, Full Time) The Court Registry Officer operates at the Invercargill District & High Court, supporting the successful operation of the Court and liaising with members of the judiciary, lawyers and the public. Responsibilities Case management – ensuring files are accurate and up to date, involving data entry and sound decision‑making. Court taking – opening court sessions in English and Te Reo Māori, working closely with the Judiciary in the courtroom and in chambers and administering court processes. Customer service – interacting with customers on any court related matter via face‑to‑face, phone or email. Skills and Experience Success in this role requires a combination of personal qualities and professional skills. Resilient – able to handle sensitive cases, high volumes and a fast pace. Detail‑oriented and observant – accurate case information is essential. Self‑aware – confident working across a range of situations with maturity and positivity. Multi‑task – manage conflicting priorities and switch quickly between tasks. Willing to learn – adapt to changing legislation and processes. Excellent communicator – good English and confident Te Reo Māori pronunciation; competence with audio‑visual equipment desirable. Salary Remuneration band: $60,729 to $80,794 pro rata – the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
