The Opportunity Join Asteron’s Claims team as a Disability Case Manager, where your expertise in disability case management will directly impact customer outcomes. You’ll manage a portfolio of disability claims end-to-end, assessing liability, interpreting policy coverage, and making fair, timely decisions aligned to Asteron’s claim’s philosophy. By analysing medical, financial, and occupational information, you’ll ensure claims are handled accurately while balancing customer support with sound commercial judgement. You’ll act as a trusted partner to claimants, setting clear expectations from the outset and guiding them through recovery and return-to-work plans with empathy and professionalism. Leveraging your understanding of medical terminology, financial assessments, and relevant legal frameworks, you will proactively monitor ongoing claims, engage with medical and rehabilitation providers, and identify risks or opportunities to drive the best outcomes. This role is ideal for an experienced disability claims professional who thrives on building strong relationships, communicating effectively, and making informed decisions in a dynamic environment. You’ll also play a key role in supporting team capability - sharing knowledge, providing guidance to junior case managers, and contributing to continuous improvement across the Claims function. How will you make an impact? Manage a portfolio of disability claims end-to-end, delivering fair, accurate and timely decisions in line with policy and business objectives Build trusted relationships with claimants through clear, empathetic communication and consistent support throughout their claims journey Drive positive customer outcomes by developing and actively managing recovery and return-to-work plans Analyse medical, financial and occupational information to assess liability, duration and claim value with confidence Proactively monitor ongoing claims, identifying risks and opportunities and taking decisive action to optimise outcomes Collaborate with medical practitioners, rehabilitation providers and advisers to support effective case management Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including privacy and insurance frameworks Contribute to team success by sharing expertise, supporting junior case managers and strengthening overall capability Enhance Asteron’s claims service by delivering high-quality insights and continuously improving processes and customer experience About you? Proven experience in disability case management, with a strong understanding of end-to-end claims handling Sound knowledge of medical terminology, financial assessments, and interpreting policy wordings Ability to confidently assess complex information and make balanced, evidence-based decisions Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and convey information clearly to a range of stakeholders Customer-focused mindset, with empathy and professionalism when supporting individuals through challenging circumstances Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple claims and competing priorities effectively Working knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including privacy and insurance legislation Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to identify risks, opportunities, and drive positive outcomes Collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting the development of others Why Join Us?
