Job Description
Role Description The Learning Area Leader is the lead educational authority within the Science discipline, responsible for driving excellence in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and student outcomes across Years 7–12. The role requires strategic leadership, initiative and professional influence, fostering a high‑performing team culture where teachers collaborate, innovate and continuously improve practice. Learning Area Leaders shape their learning area, ensuring alignment with the College vision, Victorian Curriculum 2.0, VCE Study Designs and VCE Vocational Major requirements, and the EREA Touchstone of a Liberating Education. Key Responsibilities Lead the Science Faculty (including Food Studies), ensuring exemplary teaching standards and learning outcomes. Oversee the team of teachers, the Science Laboratory and Food Studies technicians, fostering a rich and diverse curriculum. Develop and review all curriculum documentation to support the aims of the school. Champion the implementation of Victorian Curriculum 2.0, VCE Study Designs and VCE Vocational Major requirements. Provide strategic leadership, professional influence and promote continuous improvement across the faculty. Qualifications & Requirements Suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovative leaders with excellent organisational skills. Passion for Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children. Registered teacher in Victoria or ability to gain registration prior to commencement. Experience in leadership of a science or related discipline is highly desirable. Term & Conditions The appointment is for a three‑year term, commencing 27 January 2027, with an ongoing teaching position. The role attracts a generous Position of Leadership Allowance and time allowance per cycle.
