Job Description
Wellington | Rail & Civil Infrastructure | Project Delivery | Consultancy Looking for a role where you can take ownership of project delivery rather than sit behind a desk? We're working with a highly respected engineering consultancy that continues to build its reputation across New Zealand's transport and infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Rail Projects Engineer to join their Wellington team and help deliver a diverse portfolio of rail and civil infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle – coordinating design, engaging with clients, supporting construction delivery, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The Role Working across multiple infrastructure projects, you will play a key role in the technical and project delivery process. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and project managers while building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through to construction. Supporting the technical delivery of rail and civil infrastructure projects. Reviewing engineering drawings, reports and technical documentation. Coordinating designers, contractors and project stakeholders. Managing project programmes, risks and delivery milestones. Supporting Safety in Design and quality assurance processes. Monitoring project progress, budgets and deliverables. Assisting with construction support and site activities where required. Building strong client relationships and helping drive successful project outcomes. About You We're interested in hearing from engineers who enjoy both the technical and delivery side of projects. You'll ideally bring: Around 6-10+ years' experience within civil, rail or infrastructure engineering. Experience delivering engineering or infrastructure projects through design and construction. Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills. A solid technical background with experience reviewing or contributing to engineering designs. Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients. The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of delivery. Experience within rail infrastructure would be highly regarded, however candidates from broader civil infrastructure backgrounds are encouraged to apply. What's On Offer This is an opportunity to join a growing consultancy where you'll have genuine influence over projects, clients and your own career development. A varied pipeline of complex infrastructure projects. A collaborative, supportive and technically strong team. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities. Clear pathways for career progression. A business where your contribution is recognised and your ideas are valued. If you're looking to take the next step in your engineering career and enjoy delivering technically challenging infrastructure projects in a client-focused environment, we'd love to hear from you.
