Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts Nestled in a picturesque farming community just a 20-minute drive from Whanganui, Aberfeldy School is a full primary (Years 0–8) with a close-knit roll of 15 students. Our small, passionate team works collaboratively to ensure every learner reaches their full potential. This is a school where relationships truly matter, every child is known, and your individual contribution will make a genuine difference. The successful applicant will: Hold current full registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. Have experience in working with younger learners, ensuring that in their first years of school they are nurtured and supported to develop the knowledge and skills to become confident, capable learners. A strength in junior literacy will be an advantage. Be able to adapt to working across different year levels. Respond to diverse learning and behaviour needs of students in an inclusive classroom environment. Be skilled in building positive relationships. Confidently lead small group, multi level instruction across Years 0–8. Have the ability to confidently manage the wider classroom to release the teaching principal when required. Ensure continuity of learning by delivering the structured classroom program. Plan collaboratively with staff. Value the opportunities and unique experiences that come with teaching in a small rural school. We are looking for someone to fill this part-time role starting on August 3, though we are happy to negotiate a mutually agreed start date.
