Carpenters and Joiners Wanted – Opportunities with Tradestaff Are you an experienced carpenter or Joiner looking for a new challenge? APPLY NOW Tradestaff have a variety of Carpentry jobs across Southland with a demand for experienced residential and commercial carpenters/joiners. Southland will be the predominate area of work for this role – however you may also be required to work in Canterbury, Otago, Westcoast, Marlborough and Nelson regions. This will be discussed further with the successful applicant. Required Skills Experience in Residential, Commercial and Civil Carpentry Shuttering joinery (including steel-tying) Framing, steel framing 1st, 2nd and final fix Roofing timbers/roofing joinery/wall framing Experience in joinery/cabinetmaking - either on site or in a factory environment – windows and doors, staircases, bespoke timber joinery The ability to read and set out from basic plans for installations The ability to use various woodworking machinery such as jigsaws, planers, jointers, routers and other hand tools The ability to cut, shape and fix panels, plasterboard, timbers, perspex and other materials The ability to assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation Experience with shop fitouts (preferred but not essential) The ability to operate CNC machines and edge banding (preferred but not essential) Preferred Qualifications Minimum 3+ years’ experience Trade qualifications preferred however scope and length of carpentry/joinery experience may substitute for the formal qualification Your own tools Own reliable transport At least 2 work references 100% commitment to Health & Safety Able to pass a pre-employment drug test Class 1 preferred but not essential Benefits In return we offer competitive rates of pay, varied and challenging work, regular hours with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, as well as long-term opportunities.
