Please visit our website: www.turnerandtownsend.com We’re seeking a Estimator / Senior Estimator based in Auckland to deliver accurate, independent cost estimates for major infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, high-impact projects and provide strategic input that shapes essential services. Key Responsibilities Build first-principles pricing for projects, including facilities, civils, and pipework, with a strong focus on electrical works. Quantify from design information and collaborate with engineers to ensure precision. Validate quantities and pricing from suppliers and contractors. Source and review quotations, negotiating competitive pricing. Assess and price risk during early project stages. Structure estimates, bills of quantities, and bills of materials. Prepare clear, detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders. Deliver integrated estimating services, offering strategic and technical advice throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications We’re looking for a highly skilled professional who combines technical expertise with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. 5-10+ years of industry experience, ideally in water utilities and related sectors. Strong electrical estimating knowledge (LV/HV cabling, switchgear, transformers, SCADA, VSDs). Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering, or similar. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI and CSS Candy/Quantum experience advantageous. Excellent analytical and communication skills, confident in presenting to stakeholders. Consultancy experience and contractor-side knowledge. Mechanical estimating experience is a bonus. A collaborative team player with leadership potential and strong relationship-building skills.
