Senior Graphic Designer – National Leader's Office, New Zealand Parliament Full‑time on‑site position based in Wellington, offering great opportunities for career growth and an immediate start. About us The National Leader's Office (NLO) supports the National Party Leader and National Party MPs by providing communications services, social media/digital support, research, and general/financial management. We are a dynamic, forward‑thinking political organisation working closely with MPs and colleagues in the Prime Minister's Office and Ministerial Services. About the role As a Senior Graphic Designer you will deliver a wide range of in‑house graphic design services across print and digital for National Party MPs and the Leader. Responsibilities Provide graphic design services for the National Party Leader and National MPs across print and digital collateral. Design across multiple, complex projects ensuring high standard and alignment with brand standards and audience relevance. Create impactful social media content in collaboration with the wider digital team. Own the overall design production cycle from concept to end‑product delivery, on time and within budget. Manage print production, provide advice and oversee the Publicity sign‑off process. Ensure design requests are completed to a high standard, in a timely manner, and keep the client informed of progress. Prioritise multiple incoming requests, communicating trade‑offs when necessary. Guard the National Party’s brand across all parliamentary publicity. Develop client management processes and suitable support material. Maintain an accessible design file system and filing structure. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, including the adoption of new tools and technologies. Qualifications / Experience 5 years’ experience as an in‑house or freelance designer with a strong portfolio. A creative portfolio showcasing a range of design projects. Ability to take an independent brief and deliver high‑quality outputs. Understanding of the social media landscape and effective online content. Capacity to work autonomously on multiple projects with competing demands. High level of expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). Experience working in a fast‑paced environment. Preference for MacOS users. Understanding of the political landscape and government machinery. Recognised tertiary qualification in graphic design.
