About this role We are looking for a proactive and community-focused Compliance Officer to join our Monitoring & Compliance Team. This critical role will be responsible for Freedom Camping patrols in our Raglan township and Litter patrols in the wider district. Parking patrols and responding to reports of abandoned vehicles are also included in this role. This is a varied and rewarding position that combines problem-solving, relationship management, investigation work, and regulatory decision-making to help maintain a safe, healthy, and thriving district. What I do Promote compliance with the Freedom Camping Act and Council bylaws through education and enforcement. Conduct parking patrols and undertake enforcement where required. Investigate illegal dumping and take appropriate action. Respond and investigate service requests within agreed timeframes. Communicate professionally, respectfully, and appropriately. Provide responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experience. Follow Council financial processes and support value for money. Undertake other duties as required by your people leader. What I bring At least two years’ experience in compliance, regulatory or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy. Sound judgement and the ability to make fair, evidence-based decisions. Strong attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate records. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
