Financial Analyst

Overview We are looking for a financial analyst or aspiring accountant to join our Finance Business Partnering team. The role focuses on product volumes, revenue streams, and cost drivers within NZTA’s high‑impact area. Responsibilities Use analytical skills to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and consider internal and external impacts. Deliver robust reporting, financial modelling and performance analysis to support operational and strategic decision‑making. Build a clear understanding of financial and non‑financial drivers to support better planning, forecasting and investment decisions. Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting tools and analytical approaches in a complex, high‑scale environment. Qualifications & Experience Strong financial analysis and modelling capability, including variance and scenario analysis. Experience preparing management reporting, dashboards and performance insights. Advanced analytical and systems skills, including Excel and experience with ERP or BI tools. Sound understanding of financial controls, data integrity and reporting standards. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly. Collaborative, team‑oriented approach with strong communication skills. Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, economics or similar.
