Water Engineer

Stellar Recruitment is partnered with a well-established civil engineering and land development consultancy based in Auckland. We are seeking a Water Engineer to join this thriving team and get involved in the full spectrum of civil engineering design. This role will focus on stormwater management, hydraulic modelling, and flood resilience, and is suitable for a high performer who can take initiative and is looking for long‑term career development. Key Responsibilities Taking point on civil engineering design delivery across a range of land development and infrastructure projects Developing stormwater management plans, running hydraulic modelling, and assessing flood risk Managing project coordination across clients, councils, and internal teams from start to finish Producing technical reports, documentation, and design drawings to a high standard Getting on site to inspect works and provide support through the construction phase Guiding and developing junior engineers as part of a collaborative team environment What We Are Looking For Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline 5+ years experience in civil engineering within New Zealand with a strong stormwater or three waters focus Adept at communicating technical info clearly to clients Proficient in AutoCAD or Civil 3D Solid experience with stormwater design and hydraulic modelling - HEC-HMS, TUFLOW, or HEC-RAS highly regarded Understanding of NZS 3910 or similar construction contracts Ability to work independently and inspect sites when needed What We Offer Competitive remuneration package CPEng support and structured professional development Exposure to a wide range of civil engineering disciplines and projects Independence and the opportunity to take ownership of your career A collaborative team environment that values shared learning and technical leadership If you're an ambitious engineer ready for your next move, apply now or reach out directly for a confidential conversation.
