What you will be doing day to day Leading and executing external audit engagements across a varied SME client base Managing client relationships and acting as their key point of contact throughout the audit process Planning and delivering risk based audits, including substantive testing and detailed review work Preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements under IFRS, IAS and IPSAS where required Assessing internal control environments and identifying areas for improvement Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks including VAT, Companies Act and Anti Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism requirements Supporting the development and implementation of new audit software and tools Training, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior auditors Communicating findings and practical recommendations clearly to clients and partners What we are looking for Three to five years of external audit experience, ideally within a Chartered Accountancy environment Strong working knowledge of IFRS and IAS, particularly across SME clients A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a similar field, along with a professional qualification completed or in progress Confidence using audit software and data analytics tools Strong working knowledge of Xero, MYOB and other accounting systems Someone comfortable managing multiple engagements and deadlines without compromising quality Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal directly with clients Exposure to the Pacific Islands or a genuine interest in working within that environment would be highly regarded The reason for the vacancy is growth. The firm is expanding, the workflow is strong, and they need another capable Senior to support the next phase. For the right person, there is genuine room to develop quickly into a management level role. If you are a capable Senior Auditor who enjoys owning client relationships, developing junior staff and working in a close knit but ambitious firm, this is well worth a conversation.
