Overview Te Haeata/The OpportunityIt is an exciting time to join the Digital team at Te Tāhū o te Ture | Ministry of Justice.The Test Engineer role sits within the Productivity & Collaboration Services Team and reports to the Technical Product Manager - Productivity. As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of solutions delivered across a range of enterprise platforms, including the Microsoft 365 platform, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub.Working closely with product managers, developers, business stakeholders, and end users, you will help ensure that solutions meet business requirements and deliver a seamless user experience. You will contribute to both project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting the Ministry's commitment to modern, reliable, and secure digital services.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has a strong focus on quality, and thrives in a collaborative environment where continuous improvement and innovation are encouraged. Responsibilities Ensure quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise solutions. Design test plans and test strategies based on business and technical requirements. Create comprehensive test cases and test scenarios to validate functionality and user experience. Execute manual and automated functional, regression, integration, and performance tests. Identify, log, prioritize, and manage defects with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes. Build and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Prepare test reports, provide quality metrics, and communicate findings to stakeholders. Maintain test environments and test data. Engage with stakeholders across technical and business teams. Qualifications Education and Professional Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant industry certifications and commitment to ongoing professional development. Designing test plans and test strategies based on business and technical requirements. Creating comprehensive test cases and test scenarios to validate functionality and user experience. Executing manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing. Identifying, logging, prioritizing, and managing defects, working closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes. Building and maintaining automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Understanding User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release readiness processes. Validating solutions against business and user requirements. Monitoring system performance, reliability, and usability. Preparing test reports, providing quality metrics, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Maintaining test environments and test data. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices within a DevOps environment. Working with platforms such as Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills; ability to work effectively across technical and business teams. Salary The salary range for this role is between $88,455 and $120,357, based on skills and experience.
