Job Description

Overview Help achieve long‑term, sustainable behaviour change to improve road safety in New Zealand. Lead impactful social marketing campaigns to address the biggest contributors to trauma on our roads. This full‑time, permanent role is based in Wellington. You will lead a portfolio of marketing campaigns that tackle key issues contributing to road trauma. You will also deliver marketing support for other government and NZTA priorities, working collaboratively with internal specialists, external agencies, and government partners to lead integrated campaigns from research through to evaluation. We offer a salary between $112,000 and $135,000, commensurate with skills and experience. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of marketing campaigns to tackle issues contributing to road trauma Deliver marketing support for other Government and NZTA priorities Lead integrated campaigns from research through to evaluation Provide trusted marketing advice and develop compelling content Monitor performance, identify opportunities for innovation, and continuously improve campaign effectiveness Qualifications Experience in marketing or communications delivering behaviour change campaigns and initiatives Experience in the marketing or communications sectors delivering behaviour change campaigns and initiatives (social marketing experience is an advantage but not essential) Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to juggle priorities and manage multiple campaigns at different stages of their lifecycle Experience managing external partners to deliver marketing campaigns (e.g. creative, media, and research agencies) Highly developed interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of people at all levels Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, including verbal, written and presentation skills Critical thinking skills to make sense of complex data, research and information from different sources to inform a cohesive approach Excellent initiative and self‑leadership to drive performance and continuous improvement Positive attitude and the ability to adapt when circumstances change and find ways to deliver through challenges Experience managing a budget Benefits Five weeks annual leave and performance‑based bonuses Life, Income Protection and Critical Illness Insurance for permanent employees Opportunities to learn, grow and build a rewarding career in a high‑performing environment Equal Opportunity Waka Kotahi is an equal opportunity employer (EOE).
