Overview We’re looking for a Brand Operations Manager to be the internal authority and creative engine that keeps Mercury’s brand sharp, consistent, and evolving. This role sits at the intersection of brand identity, operational excellence, and people leadership. Responsibilities Own Mercury’s brand identity and design output – setting best practice for how the brand evolves, stays relevant, and shows up consistently across all touchpoints. Build and maintain governance frameworks, feedback and approval processes, and ways of working that enable high‑quality, on‑brand creative at scale. Lead a small team of designers and external partners, providing clear creative direction, coaching, and an environment where the best work happens consistently. Act as Mercury’s internal brand consultant and educator – assessing opportunities, advising stakeholders, and lifting brand capability across the business. Lead brand evaluation and operations, including budget management, resourcing, and continuous improvement of brand processes. Drive internal brand activation – bringing the Mercury brand to life for our people, not just our customers. Own Mercury’s website brand governance framework – setting and maintaining standards for how the brand is expressed across all web pages, conducting regular audits, and acting as brand approver for significant digital changes. Partner with the wider Brand & Marketing and business teams to ensure brand identity and operational foundations support campaign and strategy delivery. Qualifications Proven experience in brand operations, brand management, or a senior design leadership role, with a strong grasp of brand identity and governance. Track record of building and improving operational frameworks – approval processes, ways of working, and feedback loops that drive better creative output. Experience leading and developing a team of creatives, with a genuine commitment to getting the best from people. Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets and resourcing. Ability to act as an internal consultant – influencing stakeholders, educating teams, and building alignment around brand standards. Sharp creative judgement, knowing what good looks like and how to maintain it over time. Experience working with digital and website teams on brand governance – including UX/UI design standards, page templates, and web content oversight – with the confidence to own brand sign‑off on significant digital changes. Collaborative, organised approach with the credibility to be Mercury’s go‑to brand authority internally.
