Job Description
Our client is a respected New Zealand financial services organisation seeking a Risk & Assurance Analyst to join its Risk & Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and inquisitive professional who enjoys identifying risks, assessing controls, and driving continuous improvement across a business. Working across multiple functions, you'll help ensure the organisation operates in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best-practice risk management frameworks. Reporting to a highly regarded manager, you will be responsible for conducting assurance reviews, assessing internal controls, identifying risk and compliance issues, and supporting the ongoing enhancement of the organisation's assurance framework. You’ll work closely with business leaders and key stakeholders to provide valuable insights that help improve processes, mitigate risk, and support strong business outcomes. Key Responsibilities Conduct assurance reviews and testing across business operations Assess compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations Identify business risks, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement Assist with the development and delivery of the annual assurance and audit programme Analyse findings and prepare clear, concise reports for stakeholders Monitor remediation activities and support the implementation of corrective actions Review the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices Support investigations into compliance and operational issues as required Contribute to the ongoing improvement of assurance methodologies and frameworks Partner with stakeholders across the business to promote a strong risk and compliance culture About You You may come from a background in risk, compliance, internal audit, quality assurance, business analysis, or financial services operations. We’re looking for someone who brings: Experience in risk, assurance, compliance, internal audit, quality assurance, or a related analytical role Exposure to financial services or another regulated environment Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as AML/CFT, Financial Markets Conduct legislation, or similar Strong analytical and problem-solving capability Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and a naturally inquisitive mindset Advanced Excel and reporting skills The ability to build effective relationships and influence positive outcomes #J-18808-Ljbffr
