Job Description

About the role Radiologists interpret medical imaging, perform interventional procedures, and provide specialist diagnostic advice to support clinical decision-making. Areas of practice Opportunities are available for both generalist and subspecialist Radiologists. Clinical areas include: Diagnostic Radiology - X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound Interventional Radiology - vascular, neurointerventional, oncology, and general procedures Breast Radiology - screening and assessment clinics Subspecialties - abdominal/body, cardiac, chest/thoracic, ENT, musculoskeletal, nuclear medicine, neuroradiology, oncology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency imaging Responsibilities: Interpret diagnostic imaging and provide expert clinical advice Perform interventional procedures where applicable Maintain high standards of patient safety and imaging quality Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical discussions Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and quality improvement Support service development and departmental initiatives What it’s like to work here: Supportive, multidisciplinary teams Modern, well-equipped imaging departments Opportunities to teach, mentor, and get involved in research Flexible working options, including some remote reporting depending on service needs Protected non-clinical time Salary and benefits: Base salary: $185,380 – $267,980 depending on experience On-call and availability allowances where applicable You’ll also receive: $16,000 CME allowance per year (pro‑ra­ta) Up to 10 days CME leave Six weeks annual leave 12 public holidays Long service leave and sabbatical options Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave Reimbursement of registration and practising certificate costs What you need: Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Qualification comparable to FRANZCR or equivalent Willing to complete a period of supervised practice if required Lifestyle New Zealand offers a mix of vibrant cities, regional communities, and access to world‑class outdoor environments.
