Casual Healthcare Assistant – Inpatient Unit - Palmerston North At Arohanui Hospice, our name says it all — Arohanui means "with much love", and that’s the spirit we bring to everything we do. We provide specialist palliative care with aroha, compassion, and clinical excellence to people with life-limiting illnesses, while supporting their whānau throughout the journey. Based in Palmerston North, we serve communities across the Manawatū, Tararua, Horowhenua and Rangitīkei/Taihape regions. Every year, thousands of people benefit from our free services, made possible through a combination of public health funding and the generosity of local supporters. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Inpatient Unit team on a casual basis. This role requires availability for the rostered shifts across our 24/7 service, contributing to a collaborative and patient-focused environment. What you’ll bring: A calm, caring and adaptable approach, even under pressure Confidence in using your initiative while working within a supportive team Digital literacy, with experience in patient management systems Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit A deep commitment to person-centred care and our organisational values Ideally, you will also have: Experience in aged care, elder health, or similar care settings A Level 4 qualification in Health & Wellbeing (or be willing to work towards one) The ability to work safely and effectively under the delegation of a Registered Nurse Why Arohanui Hospice?
