About the role As our next Strategic Property Advisor, you'll be at the centre of decisions that shape Tauranga’s future. You'll work on the city’s most significant property and development opportunities—identifying land needed for growth, enabling major infrastructure projects, leading acquisitions and disposals, and solving complex property challenges that influence the future of the city. Influence city‑shaping decisions and major strategic property projects. Work directly with senior leaders, elected members, tangata whenua, developers and landowners, navigating a grey environment. Take ownership of complex property acquisitions, development opportunities and growth‑enabling initiatives. What you’ll need to succeed We’re looking for someone who combines property expertise with commercial thinking, political awareness and the confidence to navigate complexity. At least five years’ experience in a property industry such as advisory, valuations, acquisitions, development, infrastructure or an in‑house legal team or law firm. A degree qualification in Property, Valuation, Legal, Planning, Economics, Development, Finance or another relevant field. Knowledge of legislation including the Public Works Act, Resource Management Act, Reserves Act, Local Government Act and Building Act. Strong relationship‑building skills and the confidence to influence outcomes across a diverse stakeholder environment.
