Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 20/07/2026, End Date: 11/12/2026 (Restricted from making permanent appointments due to likely reduced staffing entitlements in 2027.) Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts Pahiatua School is set in a small friendly community town of Pahiatua 30 minutes drive from Palmerston North. We are a full primary with students of years 0-8 with a roll of approx. 350 students. We have a very strong supportive and inclusive culture, where our staff and tamariki thrive. Our fantastic staff are passionate, collaborative and determined to ensure that every learner reaches their potential. Our learners are enthusiastic, motivated and love to come to school. We are well resourced, with expansive grounds, modern classrooms and teaching assistant support. What we are looking for You will have sound exemplary teaching practice in all curriculum areas Your relationships with others is a resounding strength You are highly organised to ensure your planning and team meetings are building capabilities to meet school objectives. You are keen to collaborate and use each other's strengths to ease planning workload (there are 3 other teachers in this team). You have an understanding of 'best practise' or a willingness to learn a way of teaching that aligns with evidence-based initiatives.
