Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, District 6 Classification: Non-Exempt Date Posted: June 24, 2026 Salary: $33.53 per hour plus benefits/Range 40. Additional salary credit up to $23.79 per hour for internal transfers and recent rehires. Contract Length/Days: 2026-2027 School Year / 180 Days Paid Leave: Article VII of the Master Contract covers leave opportunities for certified staff including sick and discretionary leave. Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education Deadline for application: Until Filled Education/Experience – Required: Valid Colorado Department of Education Speech Language Pathology Assistive Authorization Job Description Summary/Objective: Working under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist, provide education and therapy intervention to students with identified speech and language disorders. Essential Job Functions Adapt educational materials and equipment to provide intervention and meet individual student needs. Collect data on student achievement in speech/language areas for documenting growth, progress toward IEP goals, and reporting such as Medicaid. Assist in facilitating communication among SLPs, site staff, parents regarding student performance, progress, and goals. Provide direct instruction designed by the SLP to implement goals for remediation of speech and language deficits. Assist in implementing augmentative communication devices and strategies for students whose IEP requires them. Assist SLP in securing necessary assessments and materials. Participate in in-service trainings and workshops as requested, and parent/staff meetings when invited by the SLP. Perform other duties as may be assigned. Additional Qualifications Proficiency with pertinent software, equipment, and technology. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and implement instructional strategies as defined by the SLP. Knowledge of articulation, language fluency, oral motor therapy, and assistive technology. Basic understanding of sign language preferred. Flexibility, problem‑identification, and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to consult with the SLP when problems occur. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Other Duties Regular attendance required. Duties may change at any time with or without notice. Supervisory Responsibilities None Work Environment / Physical Demands Ability to sit for long periods, manage distractions, maintain visual and auditory acuity; occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Travel Some travel may be required.
