This position is ideal for new graduate or early career physiotherapists looking to develop a good foundation in physiotherapy practice. This position also provides an opportunity for a more experienced physiotherapist to broaden their skill set and explore other areas of practice.You will complete rotations and gain experience in inpatient surgical and orthopaedics, medical ward, critical care unit, acute stroke unit, Assessment Treatment and Rehabilitation ward, outpatient department and community rehabilitation. This allows you to gain experience across a wide range of conditions at different stages of rehabilitation, whilst being supported by an integrative multi-disciplinary team.Whanganui Hospital gives you the unique opportunity of being involved in patient care for their whole patient journey. You will be able to build professional relationships with patients and whanau along with other medical professionals involved in their care.**About the Team/Service/ Location**We have a small team of Physiotherapist with a wide variety of experience and skills. Our service covers both inpatient wards, outpatient services and community-based referrals. There is a lot of demand for the skills of a Physiotherapist, and our team works to support each other, prioritise those who need Physiotherapy the most and ensure that our community are given the best care we are able to provide with the resources we have. This job requires working closely with the other , Physiotherapists and Allied Health Therapy Assistants, as well as being a part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management, adaptability and communication skills are essential for this role.The Physiotherapy department is co-located with Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Dietitians, Social Work and Community Assessment & Rehab team.
