Job Description

0.6FTE - 1.0FTE (24 - 40 hours per week) permanent position, Ward 12 and Coronary Care Unit, Christchurch Hospital. Shifts are Monday to Sunday, with a preference for afternoon and night shift. About the Service The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a 9‑bed special unit where patients experience life‑threatening cardiac events that require close observation, continuous cardiac monitoring and often urgent interventions. Ward 12 contains 28 beds for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions. About the Role Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to patients and supporting the clinical team. In this role you will assist nursing staff with patient care while maintaining a safe, clean work environment on the ward. About You We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant with a passion and commitment to delivering high‑standard care. You should be enthusiastic, motivated and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Working in a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking, supportive environment is essential. Skills and Experience Healthcare experience is highly advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective problem‑solving and decision‑making. Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Initiative and a proactive approach to work. Strong computer skills and administrative experience is an advantage.
