# Team Manager Shared Services at Ministry for Primary Industries, Wellington City## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**Team Manager Shared Services****Role type:**Permanent, full-time **Location:**Wellington City**Salary band & range:**General Salary Range C: $119,376 to $139,700 depending on skills and experience**About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga**We are looking for a proactive and people-focused Team Manager Shared Services to lead a newly established team within the Food Risk Management Directorate. You will provide leadership and direction across a range of shared business services, ensuring the smooth delivery of planning, reporting, project management, business analysis, and capability support functions.Working closely with leaders across the directorate, you will help drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and high-quality support that enables regulatory teams to focus on delivering their core work. **You will:*** Lead and develop a multidisciplinary shared services team that provides business support across the Food Risk Management Directorate.* Partner with directorate leaders to deliver effective planning, performance reporting, and operational support services.* Champion continuous improvement through business analysis, process optimisation, and the use of digital tools.* Provide oversight and support for project management practices to enable successful delivery of key initiatives.* Lead capability development programmes and contribute to strategic planning, governance reporting, and organisational performance improvement.**About You - Mōu**You are an experienced people leader who thrives in a complex operational environment and enjoys building high-performing teams. Comfortable working across planning, reporting, and business improvement activities, you are committed to delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting others to succeed.**You will bring:*** Proven experience leading people, managing operational functions, and implementing business support systems and processes.* Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of influencing and gaining the support of others.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to assess complex issues and provide practical advice.* Experience managing planning, performance reporting, and continuous improvement activities.* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to a range of audiences.* An understanding of regulatory and public sector environments, ideally with knowledge of food safety or related regulatory systems.You will also have a high level of presentation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to present information confidently, clearly, and concisely to different audience needs. We offer a breadth of development and learning opportunities and will welcome an application if you think you could make a great fit.**About the Team** - **Mō tō mātou Rōpū**The Team Manager Shared Services sits under the Manager Food Act Operations within the Food Risk Management directorate of New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS). Food Risk Management is responsible for setting standards for food production, processing, importing, and exporting; identifying emerging food safety risks; and delivering an agile and evolving food compliance and response system.The Shared Services team is a team of eight people, with a wide range of roles such as analysts, advisers and service designers that will be working to support verifiers, evaluators, other internal and external stakeholders with their requirements under the Food Act, Animal Products Act and Wine Act.Based primarily out of Wellington, our team is hard working and friendly. People enjoy working in this team because we have an energetic and positive team environment.
