Reporting to the National Manager – Customer, you will lead our Strategic Partners and Business Partners, while also remaining actively involved in the market through new business development and key account management. This is a player‑coach leadership role, responsible for both team performance and direct customer engagement. Why this role matters You are responsible for Auckland’s commercial sales performance. Through your leadership of the Strategic Partner and Business Partner teams, you will drive new business growth, develop existing accounts, and strengthen key customer relationships across the Auckland market. At the same time, you will remain actively involved in selling, managing a portfolio of key accounts, and identifying new opportunities in the market. Your leadership ensures the team delivers practical, tailored freight and logistics solutions that meet customer needs while achieving strong commercial outcomes. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop the Auckland Strategic Partners and Business Partner teams Actively generate new business opportunities across the Auckland market Manage and grow a portfolio of key customer accounts Drive revenue growth across all Mainstream service lines Oversee pipeline development, forecasting, and sales performance reporting Identify and pursue new market opportunities across the region Ensure pricing, margin, and commercial discipline is maintained Monitor competitor activity and market trendsBuild and maintain a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture Report on sales performance and outcomes to the National Manager – Customer Qualifications Proven experience in a sales leadership, business development, or commercial role Experience in both new business development and account management Background in freight, logistics, transport, warehousing, or supply chain preferred Strong commercial acumen including pricing, margin, and revenue management Proven ability to grow revenue and deliver against targets Experience leading and developing sales teams Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing ability Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Benefits Leadership role responsible for Auckland’s sales team and commercial performance Hands‑on role combining leadership, new business development, and account management Opportunity to lead a growing commercial function within a national business Competitive remuneration package Supportive national leadership and operational teams Career development opportunities within a growing New Zealand‑owned company A culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and customer success If you’re a commercially driven leader who enjoys growing business, developing people, and staying close to customers in the market, we want to hear from you.
