Job Description
Senior Mobile Developer – BNZ, Auckland Location: Auckland, New Zealand. Employment type: Full‑time, On‑site, Permanent. About the Role As a Senior iOS Developer on BNZ’s Mobile Platform Team, you will improve the infrastructure and tooling that every iOS developer uses daily. Your focus is on maintaining the CI/CD pipeline, building platform upgrades, and ensuring code quality and security across all mobile apps. Responsibilities Own and improve iOS build pipelines, addressing reliability issues, optimising CI/CD performance, and reducing build costs. Adhere to BNZ security policy and collaborate with teams to keep the mobile codebase secure and compliant. Keep the iOS platform up to date, planning and executing major Apple platform upgrades across mobile apps such as Xcode and Swift. Champion and improve code‑quality standards, working with iOS feature teams to uplift quality and extend standards to new areas of the app. Support the broader iOS engineering community, acting as the iOS platform expert for all BNZ Technology teams. Success Metrics Successful candidates will optimise the iOS build pipeline, ensure compliance with Apple’s App Store requirements, and provide clear signals to teams to reduce flaky tests and cryptic failures. They will build trust with the engineering community, enable self‑serve tooling, and contribute to a seamless digital experience for BNZ customers. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience building and maintaining iOS apps with Swift (Objective‑C knowledge is a bonus). Comfortable working deep in a large modular codebase. Experience writing unit tests, UI automation tests, and diagnosing flakiness to drive systematic improvement. Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
