If so, we have an excitingopportunity for you! We are seeking to appoint a General Practitioners(GP) to join the South Westland Area Practice. In this unique general practiceof approximately 1,600 enrolled patients, you will work across five clinicsbetween Hari Hari and Haast alongside aNurse Practitioner and a team of highly skilled Rural Nurse Specialists. Thenatural beauty and tourism highlights of the region also bring significantnumbers of tourists which increases the variety and clinical interest of therole. As part of the Te Tai o Poutini Rural Generalist Team you will haveexcellent collegial and professional support working across a broad clinicalscope. The West Coast of the South Island is a rugged,isolated and beautiful part of Aotearoa New Zealand. From Karamea in the north,to Haast in the south, the coast is the largest geographical Te Whata Oralocality, but with a small population of 32,500. Providing health care in thisenvironment is without doubt challenging, and the team here have fully adopteda Rural Generalist Model to ensure an equitable, high level of care isdelivered to our community. The Rural Generalist team is flexible, multi-disciplinaryand highly skilled – joining us will provide you with a raft of experiencewithin the framework of our community and rural hospital-based services.Outside of work, the West Coast will also challenge and amaze you – bring yourtramping boots, surfboard, mountain bike and kayak - you will need them all! The Rural Generalist (RG) Team is a highlymotivated and supportive group of SMOs, largely formed of DRHMNZ and RNZCGPfellows and trainees; FACEMs and FACRRMs. The flexible and multi-disciplinarynature of the Generalist model means we can offer unique career developmentopportunities tailored to individual clinicians.
