Job Category: Community Services and Development,Voluntary, Charity & Social Work Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week) Wellington As Advisor Philanthropy, you’ll be part of a dynamic fundraising team, responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, supporters, and members. You’ll inspire significant gifts and bequests, helping us deliver life‑changing services across New Zealand. This position requires frequent donor meetings outside the office. When performing desk-based tasks, we offer flexible working arrangements, ideally with three days based in the office and the remainder working from home. We’re open to discussing what flexibility looks like for you and how we can best support your working style. NZRC offers a total remuneration approach of circa $90k for this role, which comprises of base salary as well as employer contribution to KiwiSaver. While remuneration rates are set to reflect that we are a humanitarian not for profit organisation, we believe our employee leave provision and flexible working arrangements, provide a highly rewarding work experience. In this role you will: Build and nurture respectful relationships with donors and supporters. Actively solicit significant gifts and bequest pledges. Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects with tailored engagement. Organise events and presentations to deepen donor connections. Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts. Maintain accurate records and produce activity reports. To be successful you will have: Proven experience in donor stewardship, legacy fundraising, and making confident asks for significant gifts. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse communities. Solid understanding of fundraising principles, financial literacy, and customer relationship management. Ability to develop and deliver tailored fundraising programmes with attention to detail and accuracy. Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and EEO principles, with empathy and cultural awareness. Self‑motivated, well‑presented, and comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a team.
