About the Role As a Clinical Psychologist (iCAMHS, Mental Health), you will be working with infants, children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health needs up to the age of 18 years. As part of the Nelson/Tasman based teams, you will be working closely alongside other psychologists and be part of a larger multidisciplinary team. You will be working either in the Nelson, Motueka and/or Golden Bay ICAMHS outpatient clinics. As part of this team, you will be involved in managing psychology referrals and providing psychological perspectives at MDT for routine and complex cases. As a member of APEX you will be able to access a significant Continuing Professional Development fund and will be supported by your manager to attend relevant trainings. You will receive collegial support via your local and the wider psychology team. You are also strongly encouraged to participate in and initiate service development projects as appropriate. You will also be encouraged to take up opportunities which expose you to organisational and operational matters as they occur. There are opportunities for providing supervision to psychology colleagues and colleagues of other disciplines. This is a permanent, full-time role working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8.00 AM to 4.30 PM. About the Team/Service/Location The Psychological Team ~ we are a team of over 25 psychologists located across Nelson, Blenheim and Golden Bay. We are a generalist service, although wherever possible we can support you to further personal interests and the provision of psychological services to sub speciality fields. We work across, adult, child, addictions, inpatient and health services. We value collegiality and are looking for someone who shares this approach. We need someone who has an aptitude for working within a public funded health system. We are committed to ensuring clinicians are engaged in ongoing professional development and that they have the right supervision to support them in this. Both the NZ Psychological Society and the NZ College of Clinical Psychologists have active branches in the Nelson area and provide opportunities for members to attend training and maintain connections with psychologists in private practice. We have links with tertiary institutions and support training programmes through student placements and internships. You can mentor and or supervise students on placement. About you As a Clinical Psychologist, you will: Have post-registration experience in a mental health setting and up-to-date knowledge of psychological interventions relating to mental health issues; Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and will be an active participant in our multidisciplinary teams; Be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines; Engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients and their support networks; Be passionate about providing psychological interventions for infants, children, adolescents and their families.
