Join the Commerce Commission as our Commercial Management Lead and help us deliver smarter procurement and contract management that supports our mission to make New Zealanders better off.This permanent role will be based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.Mo te turanga | About the roleReporting to the Technology Operations Manager, this role leads the commercial management function for Information Services. Working closely with the Technology Operations Manager, you will help shape the commercial direction of Information Services, ensuring our technology investments, supplier relationships, and commercial arrangements deliver strong value for money. You'll also manage our technology supplier investment portfolio, helping drive smart, strategic decisions across the organisation.You'll be involved in:Leading a coordinated commercial programme, providing advice to support technology and service outcomesManaging, monitoring and improving a portfolio of high-value commercial activity, including procurement, renewals, transitions and supplier performance, by preparing procurement documentation, entering and maintaining information in procurement systems, and helping progress activity through the required process.Maintaining vendor relationships across operational, commercial and strategic areasWorking with the business owners to define lifecycle requirements for technology assets and services and strengthen asset management practices to improve resilience, value for money and decision-makingLeading or contributing to key work programmes, projects and initiativesThe salary band for this role is $123,386 to $145,160 plus 3.5% KiwiSaver employer contribution. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects their individual skills, experience, and internal relativities across the organisation.He korero mou | About youWe're looking for someone who has:Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in commerce, procurement, business, finance or a related discipline.Proven experience leading contract management, procurement, and commercial initiatives, ideally within the public sector or a complex organisational setting.Experience managing commercial risk, governance and performance, including monitoring contracts, ensuring compliance and driving cost effectiveness and value realisation.Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships with suppliers, senior leaders and internal stakeholdersThe ability to provide high-quality commercial advice to senior leaders, supporting decision-making across sourcing, contracting and supplier performance.Join us in a commercial leadership role where you'll shape how we invest in technology, manage key suppliers and drive real value across our organisation.Read more about the skills, experience and knowledge required for this position in the position description.
