Catering Assistant (Casual) - Victoria University of Wellington x 5 As a Catering Assistant at the University of Wellington, you will support daily food service operations by helping prepare, present, and serve meals to customers. You’ll play an important role in delivering a high‑quality catering service while working safely, maintaining cleanliness, and providing friendly and professional customer service. This is a casual position where hours of work are required on an as‑needed basis upon business needs. Therefore, you must be available during weekends. Responsibilities Assist with food preparation, portioning, plating, and adherence to the site food safety plan. Deliver warm, friendly customer service and respond to customer requests promptly. Maintain clean and tidy dining, kitchen, and public areas including equipment and waste handling. Receive and rotate stock, replenish supplies, and follow routine instructions accurately. Work effectively within a team, follow company procedures, and assist with dishwashing and general duties. Act as a team player capable of working independently with a positive, can‑do attitude. Be physically fit, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced food service environment. Demonstrate strong communication skills with a friendly and professional approach to customers. Show flexibility and hard work, with availability to work rostered shifts. Experience in a similar catering or hospitality role is an advantage but not essential.
