We are seeking a high‑impact National Commercial Manager , based in Whakatāne or Auckland , to lead commercial governance across our utility segment portfolio. This senior leadership role reports directly to the General Manager – HSL and operates within a national matrix structure, influencing estimating, engineering support, BIM capability, project delivery, and business development. What you’ll lead and deliver National commercial governance across tenders and projects Bid and No‑Bid decisions, tender reviews, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations Commercial and legal risk management Cost‑to‑complete forecasting and margin optimisation Standardising commercial processes and contractor engagement practices Building strong client relationships and securing strategic utility contracts Strategic impact Over the next twelve months, you will: Strengthen pricing strategy and margin protection Drive commercial performance reviews across major projects Support strategic planning, market analysis, and business growth Contribute to investment assessments, including mergers and acquisitions Incentive model This role includes a performance‑based annual incentive , linked to: Tender success rates Margin protection and commercial governance outcomes Securing major contracts and improving bid margins About You You are a commercially astute leader with deep experience in the utility or high‑voltage construction sector , and a proven ability to deliver strong commercial outcomes across complex, multi‑project environments.
