Te Haeata / The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Advisor - Property Policy Guidelines to join the Strategy, Planning and Performance team within the Ministry of Justice Property group. In this strategic role you will lead the development of property policies, design guidelines, and contribute to the long‑term planning of our national portfolio—including courthouses. You will work with senior leaders, the Judiciary, iwi, and government partners to deliver consistent, future‑focused property guidance and policies. Responsibilities Lead the development of property policies and design guidelines for the Ministry of Justice. Contribute to the strategic planning of the national courthouse portfolio. Collaborate with senior leaders, the Judiciary, iwi, and other government partners. Influence nationwide infrastructure and provide strategic advisory support. Engage with stakeholders to ensure buildings and infrastructure support the justice system and community needs. Qualifications and Experience Self‑motivated and pro‑active. Strong technical writing and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear insights. Experience developing policies, standards, and guidelines. Proven ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders. Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns, especially tikanga Māori. Experience in the public sector. Highly desirable: experience in property, infrastructure, architecture, planning, or policy advisory roles. Knowledge of property design, asset management, or building specifications. Salary The appointing salary for this role will be between $99,208 and $127,683 based on skills and experience.
