Job Description
Clinical Nurse Specialist (PD) – Renal Service, Whangarei Hospital Permanent part‑time position (0.9FTE), 36 hours per week. About the Role We are looking for a motivated and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Renal Service in Whangarei. The role is an advanced nursing practice position and the clinical expert responsible for patient education, training and ongoing community support for patients and whānau living with chronic kidney disease. The specialist will maintain and enhance professional nursing standards and will be an effective member of the wider Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau organisation. Key Responsibilities Provide patient education and training for renal disease management. Deliver ongoing community support to patients and whānau. Maintain and enhance professional nursing standards. Participate as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team across outpatient, community and inpatient settings. Work within the Peritoneal dialysis training unit to support independent dialysis at home. Essential Qualifications Registration with the Nursing Council of NewZealand and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC). Current Expert Registered Nurse Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) Portfolio. Postgraduate diploma in specialty nursing practice. Personal commitment to ongoing learning and development. Experience in Renal Peritoneal dialysis preferred but not essential. We Offer Work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
