Responsibilities Serve as the strategic partner to the Hospital and Specialist Services group, working closely with senior leaders to deliver People & Culture initiatives. Lead or assist with the implementation of strategic HR projects and transformational change across the organisation. Establish strong relationships and credibility with senior stakeholders, anticipating and proactively addressing business workforce opportunities and challenges. Ensure HR initiatives are appropriately planned, communicated, and implemented to managers and their teams, meeting service needs. Develop and maintain service goals and challenges beyond the HR function to support operational and strategic outcomes via 100‑day and multi‑year plans. Provide advice and support to managers on human resource services in accordance with employment agreements, strategies, frameworks, policies and relevant legislation. Lead employment relations and change management activities to support fair, consistent and prompt processes. Proactively work with managers to identify opportunities for performance, productivity and engagement improvements and initiatives. Promote an environment encouraging constructive engagement and a shared problem‑solving approach with unions and employees. Assist with implementing initiatives that promote and support the Te Whatu Ora culture, values and employee engagement. Qualifications 8+ years of senior HR partnering experience within complex, multi‑entity, geographically dispersed and/or unionised environments. Proven ability to partner with senior leaders through transformation, change and organisational uplift, providing sound judgement and trusted advice. Strong influence, stakeholder management and relationship building skills at executive, operational and workforce levels. Deep understanding of NewZealand employment and Health & Safety legislation, applied confidently in complex and sensitive scenarios. Experience embedding the principles of TeTiriti o Waitangi into leadership practice, people strategy and organisational decision making. Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, navigating ambiguity to make difficult decisions aligned to strategic priorities. Track record of integrity, transparency and values‑based leadership, earning trust through consistent, professional credibility. Exceptional communication skills, able to create impact, anticipate risk and proactively engage stakeholders to deliver sustainable outcomes.
