About the role Be pivotal in the delivery of high‑quality tax advice by joining PwC as Manager or Senior Manager in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. The role involves leading a team of experienced tax advisors to contribute to strategic tax reviews and drive innovative client service offerings. The position is part‑time, collaborates across the business, and requires a passion for tax along with an entrepreneurial spirit. Day‑to‑day responsibilities Leverage GenAI, digital tools, PwC methodologies and quality frameworks to improve efficiency, consistency and client outcomes. Coach, delegate to and support junior team members across advisory and compliance work. Manage and develop excellent client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor driving sustainable growth. Identify and pursue value‑add opportunities through business development, client relationship management and portfolio growth. Provide practical, well‑researched and technically robust advice on complex tax matters, including acquisitions, divestments, tax reviews, corporate tax issues and other advisory assignments. Lead the delivery of tax advisory and compliance engagements, ranging in complexity with support from Tax Partners. Build your skills for the future and develop in a way that is meaningful for you while working with global clients across multiple industries. Travel Requirements: up to 20%. Maintaining independence is fundamental – this role requires an independence review process. Skills you will bring or develop in this role Significant, proven tax experience (over 4 years) in a professional environment, handling complex tax advisory projects. Strong understanding of tax legislation and revenue authority practices, gained in New Zealand or a comparable jurisdiction. Proven leadership experience in managing teams or complex projects. Experience in business development and client relationship management at a strategic level. International experience paired with New Zealand tax experience is advantageous.
