Babcock is looking for a Marine Fitter to join the Marine Mechanical team based in Devonport, Auckland . About the role Join a high-performing marine engineering team delivering essential maintenance, repair, and overhaul services across ship and shore-based assets. This role puts you at the centre of complex mechanical work—propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, and critical infrastructure—where your technical expertise directly impacts operational performance and reliability. If you enjoy solving real-world mechanical problems, working on diverse marine assets, and taking ownership of quality outcomes, this is a role where your skills will be valued and developed. $46 per hour (trade certificate essential) OT rates paid at 1.5x for first 3 hours and 2x for anything beyond that Additional benefits About you You are a skilled mechanical fitter with strong marine or heavy engineering experience, confident working on propulsion and auxiliary systems. You diagnose faults quickly, make sound decisions under pressure, and take pride in high-quality workmanship. You communicate effectively, work well within a team, and stay focused on safety at all times. Comfortable using digital systems, you are proactive in improving processes and continuously developing your technical capability.
