Job Description
Responsibilities Monitor, prepare and maintain financial information and reporting in accordance with best practice. Support senior accountants and members of the shared service team with accounting duties including monitoring transactions, resolving queries and assisting with analysis. Record-2-Report activities. Assist in the generation of general ledger transactions and subsequent related adjustments. Support monthly activities including balance sheet reconciliations. Support the preparation of financial analysis and reports from a profit and loss and balance sheet perspective. Support the analysis and review of financial information of discrepancies and variances. Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures including initiating any actions to reduce write offs and improve efficiencies. Assist audit preparations and year end activities. Support the preparation of accounting records and financial reports as per Datacom standards. Ensure all accounting tasks are completed within the set timeframe and any issues addressed as they arise. Liaise with the broader team to ensure that all reporting standards are appropriately embedded into relevant finance processes. Perform other accounting duties and support the broader team as required or assigned. Support in the design and implementation of effective and appropriate financial controls. Take reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the Health and Safety of self or others. Report all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy. Qualifications Detailed knowledge of general accounting systems, processes and practices. Strong technical accounting ability. Working knowledge of Oracle or a similar sized ERP system. 3-5 years of general accounting or audit experience. Experience influencing stakeholders through challenging situations. Previous involvement in the implementation of a new accounting system or management and evolution of an existing system. Experience working either within Datacom or for a similar-sized organization. Must have experience or background in inventory and IT rebates. Must be Certified in Accountancy. Ability to deliver accurate and timely financial outputs. Excellent organisational skills. Passion for process improvement and simplification. Strong system skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise resource planning software (ERP). #J-18808-Ljbffr
