Our installation teams are at the heart of this mission and we’re looking for a motivated Solar Trade Assistant to join our crew. As a Solar Trade Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role on our installation teams, supporting both the Hub Manager and Electrician and during residential and commercial solar installations. You’ll help ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn and grow in one of NZ’s most exciting industries. The role may require occasional travel and overnight stays, we minimise this where possible and ensure fair rotation. Key Responsibilities Assist in the installation of solar panels, mounting systems, and cabling on residential and commercial rooftops Transport, organise, and prepare tools and materials for installations Support stocktaking and warehouse organisation when required Work closely with electricians, roofers, and project managers to ensure smooth project delivery Maintain high-quality workmanship across all installation tasks Complete installation documentation, safety records, and job reports accurately Follow all safety protocols, use PPE correctly, and contribute to a safe work environment Communicate clearly with team members and management Provide feedback to improve installation processes and customer experience Demonstrate Lightforce values in all customer and team interactions Participate in H&S training, toolbox meetings, and proactive safety initiatives Assist with any other operational tasks required for successful installations Skills & Experience Experience in construction, roofing, or a related trade Ability to work at heights and outdoors in different weather conditions Good physical fitness and a strong commitment to safe work practices Strong attention to detail and pride in doing quality work Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Problem‑solving skills and adaptability Full NZ Driver’s Licence Current work visa (if applicable) Basic knowledge of solar installation is a bonus but not essential.
