Ministerial Advisory Service The Ministerial Advisory Service Team is a key function within the Strategic and Executive Services Directorate at the Treasury. We manage Ministerial correspondence, Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) requests, Written Parliamentary Questions, Ombudsman investigations, and lead the development and publication of proactive information releases. As a Ministerial and Proactive Release Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in leading the Treasury’s proactive release process in conjunction with managing responses to Ministerial correspondence, OIA requests, and Parliamentary Questions. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating and preparing documents for proactive release, including redaction and ensuring compliance with Government Web Standards. Publishing documents on the Treasury website. Balancing your time equally between Ministerial Advisory and Proactive Release responsibilities. This role requires a mix of technical expertise in web publishing and strong advisory skills. You will collaborate with key stakeholders across the Treasury, including the Web and Publications team, and liaise with Ministers’ offices. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference and thrives in a dynamic environment. To succeed in this role, you will bring: Excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with Ministers’ offices and a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical skills to identify, research, and address issues effectively. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to write documents that are clear, concise and in plain English. Strong attention to detail and the ability to QA work. Strong customer focus and commitment to excellence. Excellent technical skills with proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office suite, in particular MS Word and Excel. Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to plan, execute and monitor workflows in a complex work environment. Demonstrated high levels of integrity. An understanding of the public sector, with familiarity of Parliamentary protocols and the Official Information Act being beneficial. A tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience. This role is Wellington-based to enable close collaboration with stakeholders across the Treasury and Ministers’ offices.
